Flora entered beauty school at sixteen and began working for a custom wig maker and stylist in Brooklyn while also styling hair at a prestigious Manhattan salon. The creativity and precision of wig making immediately felt like home.
Her talent led to nearly twenty years with a worldwide wig manufacturer. There, Flora helped thousands of clients and refined every part of the process: selecting fine hair, designing comfortable foundations, fitting pieces securely, and shaping a finished style around the individual.
In 2005, Flora founded Design by Flora in a small New Jersey studio. What began with one client grew into a respected brand with a private Teaneck showroom, an extensive ready-to-wear collection, custom design services, and clients around the world.
Today, Flora continues to develop new designs, oversee the details of every collection, and meet personally with clients. Her work blends traditional wig-making techniques with the comfort, movement, and versatility modern life requires.

When should I schedule before chemotherapy?
As early as you comfortably can, ideally before hair loss begins. This gives Flora the opportunity to see your current color, texture, and style. Ask your medical care team what timing is appropriate for your treatment plan.
